Webex devices support Airplay and Miracast.
Airplay
To share screen Wirelessly connect your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to webex devices
Network requirements
To allow for wireless sharing with AirPlay, either:
- The Apple device and the Webex device need to be on the same broadcast domain (VLAN or subnet). This is typically the case in a user’s home network set up. or
- The administrator needs to enable discovery beacon support on the Webex device. This is typically the case in an enterprise network set up. If beacon support is not enabled, AirPlay will still be available but will require Bonjour services for network support. IP routing will be required between subnets to allow for sharing. See the table below.
Port | TCP or UDP | Service or protocol name | Service name | Used by |
80 | TCP | Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) | http | AirPlay |
443 | TCP | Secure Sockets Layer (SSL or HTTPS) | https | AirPlay |
319, 320 | UDP | Precision Time Protocol (PTP) | ptp | AirPlay |
554 | TCP/UDP | Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) | rtsp | AirPlay |
3689 | TCP | Digital Audio Access Protocol (DAAP) | daap | AirPlay |
5353 | UDP | Multicast DNS (MDNS) | mdns | AirPlay |
7000 | TCP | AirPlay HTTP server | http | AirPlay |
32768-60999 | TCP/UDP | Ephemeral port range required between subnets for share | http | AirPlay |
Configuration
To configure AirPlay on a Webex device, access the device’s web interface or Control Hub
- Go to devices
- Select Local device Control

- You will see a Popup Window. Choose Proceed.

- Go to Device settings

- Choose Video

- Turn the Mode ON and Turn ON discovery beacon support

Define security settings. Left unset, no password or PIN will be required for any AirPlay pairing.
- Password. The device will require a password for AirPlay pairing. The user has to set a password in the device’s web interface. If the user doesn’t set a password, the device will revert to default and request a PIN.
- PinAlways (default for shared mode devices). The device will request a PIN at every AirPlay pairing.
- PinFirstTime (default for personal mode devices). The device will request a PIN at the first AirPlay pairing. After the first time, the successfully paired device will be remembered.

Miracast
By enabling Miracast participants can share content wirelessly from their laptop or android devices to Webex Board or Room Series device
Miracast uses Wi-Fi Direct to establish a direct network connection from a meeting participant’s laptop to the Webex device.
This feature is supported on Webex Boards and Room Series devices on a cabled network connection. If the Webex device has an external Wi-Fi antenna, such as Room Kit Pro, this should be mounted. Users can share from Windows and Android devices. Before enabling Miracast, you should check firewall settings and verify that TCP port 7236 is open on Windows devices in your organization.
Configuration
To configure Miracast on a Webex device, access the device’s web interface or Control Hub
- Go to devices
- Select Local device Control
- You will see a Popup Window. Choose Proceed.

- Go to Device settings

- Choose Video

- Turn the Mode ON

- Save your changes
Now You will see the airplay option on your screen
